A while back I found this book tag, but I cannot for the life of me remember where I found it. (Pls tell me if you do know where this came from). But here is The Finished Books Tag!
Do you keep a list of the books you have read?
Yes, I have Goodreads to mark books I want to read, am reading and have read; but I also have two Google Spreadsheets. One is the extensive spreadsheet created by Ali from Hardback Hoarder and the other is G’s CAWPILE spreadsheet. And I have a Libib account where I mark the books I own physically and digitally.
If you record statistics, which statistics do you record?
As I’ve mentioned before, I use two different spreadsheets to record some stuff – there is a per month page, a yearly page, there is a page for books I own, books I’ve bought (and how many of those I’ve read), there is a lot of stuff I record in Ali’s spreadsheet. And of course in the CAWPILE sheet I record how much points I’d give the atributes from each book I read which will give me a more accurate rating.
Do you give star rating for books, and if so what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score?
Yes, I star-rate my books – 1-5 stars. I use half stars as well, though Goodreads doesn’t allow that. For most books I use the CAWPILE system, but sometimes I just love a book so much I know it’s going to be a 5-star (and then I’ll just add random numbers in the CAWPILE to get to 5 stars). I rate all the books I read, whether they are children’s books, YA, adult, fiction or non-fiction. I used to rate only for enjoyment but I think the CAWPILE system works a bit more.
Do you review books?
Not really? Like I do write a little review on Goodreads, but I don’t do big reviews anymore. I’m not good at writing reviews and am better at expressing my feelings through gifs.
Where do you put your finished books?
Like, physically? I just put them back on my shelves. I don’t often unhaul books, not even if I end up not loving them (should probably do that more often).
Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?
Usually, just sit and think about what I thought of the book, but I don’t do anything ‘special’ or anything. If I finish a book with a cliffhanger or a sad ending I just sit and rethink my life (just kidding) but yeah, nothing special.
And that concludes the Finished Books tag! Have you done this tag? Let me know so I can read your answers!
