First of all I want to wish you all
a Happy Christmas!
I had thought about doing a best songs and best albums list again, just like I did last time and the two years before that – I think – but honestly I haven’t listened to a lot of music this year. I listened to soundtracks, yeah, but other than that there were only a few songs that I actively listened to and liked. So I thought I’d make a post of my 2015 soundtrack. A couple of songs that I listened to the most this year that have special places in my heart (even if they aren’t the best songs in the world). So let’s go, my 2015 soundtrack!
Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars
I first heard this song on HobbitCon, I believe, and then I was like ‘nah’, but the more I listened to it, the more I started to like it. It is now one of the official Hobbitcon songs and every time I hear it I think back to those crazy days and ahhhh yes, Uptown Funk is the best!
Shake it Off by Taylor Swift
Honestly, I have never really been a fan of Taylor Swift. I liked her songs she wrote for the Hunger Games movies, but that was about it. Until I heard Shake it Off. For some reason it just stuck. And it also probably didn’t help that this song was played at every HobbitCon party. So yeah, I really like this song, and it’s earned its spot in my 2015 soundtrack list! And it’s also a great intro for the next song because…
Supernatural Parody by the Hillywood Show
This a-ma-zing Supernatural parody is basically the characters singing a spn-ified verison of Shake it Off. Even if you don’t like Supernatural, just watch it – it’s amazing. These two girls, Hilly and Hannah Hindi are amazing, and they’ve got plenty of other parodies as well. And – for us Dutchies – they’re coming to Dutch Comic Con next year, yay! One of the best parts is that the part of Sam is played by Osric Chau – who played Kevin on the show – and who is just one of the most adorable human beings ever!
The entire Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack
I love this movie, and I love its soundtrack. It’s basically the only ‘normal’ songs I’ve been listening to for the past year (okay including those above this song of course, and some other ones; but the majority of it was all actual movie score). There are all kinds of 80’s songs on there, including I Want You Back from the Jackson Five; Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede, and just a whole lot more! I don’t like all the songs, but I like enough of them to call this one of my favourite albums (so yay at least one album for my list XD)
The Time Warp
I have never seen this movie (or show? Idk? it’s both right?) but I love this song. It’s played every time at HobbitCon and then everyone literally everyone goes and dances together. Just like with the Macarena, it’s those moments that I live for. It’s also my favourite song to dans on when playing Just Dance, which I haven’t done in a while – maybe I should pick it up to ‘train’ for HobbitCon, hahaha!
Mamma Mia by Abba
Before RingCon last year, I only knew a couple of Abba songs, and most of those only a couple of lines or so. Now, thanks to my friend, I can sing along to a lot more Abba songs. It was all we listened to during our carride to Bonn and now I’m hooked. Thank you Tanja.
And what the hell is that video clip oh my gods.
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
I’d be a liar if I didn’t add this song. It’s the ultimate New Years’ Eve song and honestly every time it’s played anywhere before or after NYE I sing along to it (sometimes in my head, sometimes out loud with my friends); it’s that kind of song that everyone (but my sister) knows and loves even though they would never admit to loving it if you’d ask them. Perfect.
