Don’t you hate it when you read a book and the ending just totally sucks? I’ve had that several times, so I thought that instead of doing a Thanksgiving themed TTT (seeing as Thanksgiving is an American thing and I’m not), I thought I’d do this TTT instead. I’ve chosen five of my favourite series endings, and five of my least favourite. The latter does not mean I hated the book, in fact I really liked most of these books, but I just didn’t like the the last book or the ending of that last book much. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme organised by the ladies of The Broke and the Bookish.

TTT 241101

Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs – This ending was just so perfect and so happy that I really loved it so so much! I do wish there would be more books in this series, but honestly I think Jacob’s story is done. For a moment I was afraid it was going to end completely different, but it didn’t and that made me love this book so much!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling – Yes, honestly this book was so sad. Lots of characters that we’d known for so long had died; but Voldemort was defeated. The epilogue was amazing, I loved seeing their children going to Hogwarts.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins – Even though I only rated this book 4 stars, while I rated the other two 5 (mainly because I missed some character deaths the first time I read it); I did really love this ending. It was so suspenseful and then the epilogue was just so adorable and ugh. I love it so much okay?!

Winter by Marissa Meyer – I am a tiny bit conflicted, because though I loved this ending, I also didn’t really like it. It was so quick, and I really was just missing something. But I heard that the official epilogue will be in Stars Above, the novella bind-up that gets released next year. Yay!

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis – I believe this was one of the first Science Fiction books I read, and I completely fell in love with the series. It took me way too long to finish it, but Shades of Earth was amazing!

TTT 241102

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi – As much as I enjoyed the first two books, this last book fell a bit flat. I don’t know, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous two books.

Ensnared by A.G. Howard – I don’t really know what to say about this, other than the fact that I just didn’t like this ending. There’s another book (or a novella?) coming out soon that has another story about the ending I believe, and I don’t know if I’ll read it – as much as I love the cover.

Requiem by Lauren Oliver – UGH. This ending was just so abrupt and unsatisfying. I loved these books, but that ending was just a big fat nope.

The Shade of the Moon by Susan Beth Pfeffer – Mainly because this book had such an open ending, and I just didn’t like the main character of this book – Jon, Miranda’s younger brother. He was such an asshole in this book and I just disliked him for the majority of it. Then he did something cool at the end of the book, but other than that I just didn’t like it.

The Death Cure by James Marsden – Oh my stars, seriously what hte hell was that ending? Yes, it was a happy ending but seriously what the fuck happened before that? Nothing good. Goddamnit. This movie wil be so sad, ughhhhhhh… (I did really enjoy the book though, but the ending just sucked)

TTT 241103

Allegiant by Veronica Roth – Yes this gets its own place, it’s own place of shame. Because even though I loved this book a lot, just as much as the rest of the series – that ending was just horrible. Why why why Veronica? Why would you do this to us? I mean I get it, I get why she had to do it, but it just broke my heart into a thousand pieces. I don’t want them to change it in the movie though, which a lot of other people DO want. Seriously, no.

Anyway, these are my best and worst series endings, what did you choose for this week’s TTT? Leave a comment!
