There are a lot of books out there, and I have read a bunch of them. I’ve started a lot of series and finished about a handful of them. Some of the unfinished ones are unfinished because the next book hasn’t come out yet, or because I just wasn’t interested in the series anymore. But some of those unfinished series are unfinished because I just haven’t finished them yet. Here is my top ten of finished series that I still have not finished reading. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the ladies of The Broke and the Bookish.
The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead – I have read the first two books and really enjoyed them. Yet I keep on stalling the purchase of the rest of the series, for no particular reason. I’ll probably just buy the third book – Shadow Kiss – very soon. I guess.
The Gone series by Michael Grant – Personally I wasn’t a fan of the second book, at all. The third one was a bit better, but I just didn’t really know for sure if I wanted to finish this series. Maybe I’ll just borrow the rest of the books off my sister because she bought those recently.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams – I barely finished the first book, and that only after watching the movie. I don’t like classics that much, so I am not entirely sure if I’m going to read this series, even though I do own the entire five-part trilogy!
Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi – I liked the first book, though I don’t remember much of it since it’s been a while, but I did recently buy the second book. Why haven’t I started it yet? I honestly do not know. (I might go and find a recap for the first book before I start TtEN tho).
The Watersong Quartet by Amanda Hocking – Is that what it’s called (it is isn’t it)? I read the first book a couple of years ago, and I enjoyed it. Thought I would read the rest of the series soon, but so far I still have not picked up the second book.
The Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin – I read the first book, enjoyed it and decided to wait a bit with reading the second book until the third (delayed one) came out. But the third book has been released and I still have not picked up either of the sequels.
The Legend series by Marie Lu – The first two books were amazing, and I really couldn’t wait to start the third. But when I opened the file on my e-reader and read a few pages, I decided to put it aside for a while. I might just buy the trilogy as physical copies and try to read the third book again, because I really do want this series finished!
The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer – I read these books at around the same time as I read Harry Potter, and though they didn’t stick to me as much as HP did, I really enjoyed them (or well, the first two books, since those were the only two I had at that time). Yet I still haven’t read the other six (?) books since. I’m planning on doing that soon though, because I’m really curious whether it’s just as good as Harry Potter.
The Precious Stone series by Kerstin Gier – To be honest, I thought these books would be so much better, judging from the ratings and reviews of people around me. But I was kind of disappointed in the first two books, because nothing really happened. Though I am still going to read the third book, because I just want to have the series finished, one day.
The Ellie Chronicles by John Marsden – These three books were a sequel series to the Tomorrow When the War Began series, and they were about Ellie’s life after the war. I read the first one, which was alright, but I still haven’t picked up the other two.. Maybe soon.
