Book Stats: July 2015

July wasn’t an amazing reading month. I was at my gran’s house to look after the cat and brought seven books with me, of which I only finished one. I found out about a website on which I could read comics that were part of my youth (W.I.T.C.H.) and read a lot of those this month. Got a couple of books, watched a couple of nice movies; yeah July was a good month, just not for reading (I think seven books in a month isn’t that much tbh).

Books bought:

  • The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins – I found these amazing covers on AmazingBooks for only 3,70 euros a piece, so naturally, I had to buy them. They are so beautiful and shiny and they look really good for secondhand copies! I just wanted copies of this series that actually matched, and now I do, yay!
  • The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas – I FINALLY bought it yeah! This is a prequel to the Throne of Glass series and has five novella’s in it all about Celaena’s life before Endovier. I thought that ‘The Assassin and the Princess’ would be in here as well, but it wasn’t and I can’t seem to find it anywhere on Goodreads anymore? Bit odd, but hey I got The Assassin’s Blade!!!
  • Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder – I LOVED Poison Study and I wanted to buy Magic Study with the same cover design as PS, but apparently, it was unavailable everywhere around the time I wanted to order it. So I stalled and stalled and eventually last month I found a (secondhand?) copy of it on the German Amazon website. Ordered it immediately, and when I wrote my review for this book I found out that this cover was apparently available again, everywhere. *sighs*
  • Balefire by Cate Tiernan – I saw this book (which actually consists of four complete books) on and decided to just order it because it was cheap (cheaper than on BookDepository) and I liked her Sweep books, so I thought why not?!

Books received:

My birthday was two months ago, and my friend told me she would get me a Quicksilver Funko Pop. We searched everywhere but apparently, there is no Funko for Quicksilver yet; so when she went to LFCC she got me a couple of comics – I’d been wanting to read House of M for a long time now, and now I finally can, yay! The other one she got because it’s got Wanda Maximoff on the cover, and I love Wanda! (The comic has nothing to do with her, but it’s Wanda)

Books read:

Books read this month: 8 books read (including 2 graphic novels), not the best month but hey still seven books!
Total books read so far this year: 71 out of 140 books.

Movies/TV shows seen:

Books I want to read next month: August is going to be Netgalley month because I have a lot of books that I got from Netgalley that I still haven’t read. So the books I’ll be reading next month are: Dark Triumph, Witches Protection Program, Lumiere, As Black as Ebony, Heart of Dread: Frozen, Melt, Darkness, Gates of Thread and Stone, The Astrologer’s Daughter, From a Distant Star, Moonlands, Dead Beautiful (this can still change, because I have more books than these from Netgalley so yeah).
Movies/TV shows I want to see/finish next month: Supernatural Season 10, Once Upon a Time Season 4b, Fantastic Four (2015), Hulk (2003), Anna Karenina (2012), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Road to El Dorado, Sense8 S1, Paper Towns

Book Jar 2.0:

I failed to read this month’s book jar post, and seeing as next month’s reading has a special theme (Netgalley), I won’t be picking something from my jar this time!

How was your month?
