Ten Complete Bookseries I Own

Published by Nessa Luna on

I have only posted one thing this month, and I feel really awful for that. I do have some blog ideas so I hope I can work them out soon, and I owe you some reviews of books that I recently finished. So I’ll get working on that this weekend, hopefully! I have decided to participate in Top Ten Thursday, the Dutch version of Top Ten Tuesday organised by Emmy from Zon en Maan, because the subject this week is a nice one. Your top ten of complete book series that you own. Here is my list, in no particular order (and yes Leggy wanted to be in every picture so there he is).

The Slated series by Teri Terry – I have read the first two, Slated and Fractured, and LOVED THEM so much! I still haven’t started Shattered, because I’m having a bit of a reading slump, and I really want to be able to concentrate on the book so I’m saving it for later!

The Divergent series by Veronica Roth – Another series that I love to bits. A lot of people didn’t like the third book, and though I kind of get why, I did not hate it at all. It was almost just as good as the previous two (though seriously Divergent will always be the best of the three, or four actually); but yes I love this series! (If you are wondering what the thingies are that are sticking out of the books; it’s dead people. Sorry).

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams – To be honest, I have read the first book, and then abandoned the series for other books I wanted to read. I enjoyed the first book but I just couldn’t get myself to actually pick up the second book after I finished. I will probably try again soon, because it’s about space and I love space!

The Splintered series by A.G. Howard – I didn’t love the first book, but I did like the second book more, I’m still not sure what I think about the third book but in the end I enjoyed this series because it’s an Alice in Wonderland retelling, and I loved the disney movie (the original book not so much alas).

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo – THESE BOOKS. OH MY GOD THESE BOOKS! I loved them so much, and I am so happy I decided to finally pick up the first book after hearing so much about it, and wow yes I have nothing more to say about them!

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling – It would be an abomination if I didn’t add this one to my list. I would have loved to add the Dutch books as well, but I am still missing two of those.. I am planning on getting them secondhand from somewhere, because then they’d probably fit with my own copies more (because those are falling apart). But yes, all the love to this series!

The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi – I’ve only recently bought the last book, and I have only just started reading it, but I did enjoy the first two in the series. I really like the way Tahereh writes, and I really hope the third book will be as nice as the previous two! (Okay I don’t own the novella’s, but I don’t really count them as part of the series to be honest).

The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins – Another series that I REALLY couldn’t not add. I loved this series and I love the movies that are based on these books. I am not in love with the copies that I own though, because they don’t match. The problem is that I love the copy of THG so much that I want to buy Catching Fire and Mockingjay in that same version; and that’s a bit more expensive than just buying a new THG book. Oh well.

The Last Survivors series by Susan Beth Pfeffer – I really enjoyed the first three books, but wasn’t too excited about the fourth one. I loved reading more about the families especially when they got together in the third book, but I am just not so happy with the open endings the books have. Especially the fourth one!!

The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien – I thought about just adding LOTR but then I was like ‘well the Hobbit happens in the same universe and is basically a sort of prequel to LOTR right?’ so yeah, here we are. Debated on adding The Silmarillion as well, but that’s more of a history of the world rather than one story, so it’s just these four amazing books!

So here are my top ten of complete series that I own. I also have about 20/25 incomplete series, some of which have books that are yet to be released, but most are just series that I didn’t really bother to complete, oops. Do you have any complete series on your shelf? Share them with me in a comment!
