Wednesday 10 December. The day after I saw the last Hobbit movie. Time for another WWW and Waiting on Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly bloghop created by MizB from Should be Reading. It has you answering three simple questions: What are you currently reading, What did you recently finish and What do you think you’ll read next? Here are my answers!
What are you currently reading? | At the moment, I am not really reading anything. I do still have The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien as currently reading on Goodreads, but I’ve actually finished reading that one already. The only thing I am actually reading right now isn’t a book, but a magazine. The January edition of the Empire magazine, guest-edited by Peter Jackson who created the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies.
What do you think you’ll read next? | I only need to read three more books to get to my goal of 120 books this year (I changed it to 120 because I knew I was never going to make the 125). So I’m thinking about reading some easy books that don’t require a lot of attention. Not sure which books that are going to be, but I’ve still got Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle on my e-reader so I might go and read that.
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly bloghop created by Jill from Breaking the Spine and it has you posting about books you can’t wait to get your hands on; new releases or books that have been released already but that you just haven’t gotten yet.
Title: The Blood Cell (Goodreads) Series: Doctor Who New Series Adventures #54 Author: James Goss Release Date: 9 September 2014
“Release the Doctor — or the killing will start.”
An asteroid in the furthest reaches of space – the most secure prison for the most dangerous of criminals. The Governor is responsible for the worst fraudsters and the cruellest murderers. So he’s certainly not impressed by the arrival of the man they’re calling the most dangerous criminal in the quadrant. Or, as he prefers to be known, the Doctor.
What does impress the Governor is the way the new prisoner immediately sets about trying to escape. And keeps trying. Finally, he sends for the Doctor and asks him why? But the answer surprises even the Governor. And then there’s the threat — unless the Governor listens to the Doctor, a lot of people will die.
Who is the Doctor and what’s he really doing here? Why does he want to help the Governor? And who is the young woman who comes every day to visit him, only to be turned away by the guards?
When the killing finally starts, the Governor begins to get his answers…
Why I am waiting on this book:
Recently, I read Silhouette, one of the three Doctor Who books released featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Clara as his companion. I really liked this book, and that made me want to try out the other two as well. Or well, actually just this one, because the third book features insects and I HATE insects (yes I even hate reading about them because it makes my skin crawl). And this one just sounds really interesting! And yeah I just really enjoy Doctor Who novels a lot!
