WWW & Wishlist Wednesday (10/09)

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme organized by MizB from Should Be Reading. It has you answering the following three questions: What are you currently reading; What did you recently finish and What do you think you’ll read next? To see my previous WWW Wednesday posts, just click this link and it’ll take you to the right page!

grimmsfairyWHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING? | I am reading Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. They are all quote short stories, from only two to five or six pages, but I am liking what I’ve read so far. It’s all a bit strange, with the old English sometimes, but I am getting used to it. Some of the stories are a bit disturbing though, and I like that.

The other book I am reading is The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. So far it hasn’t really grasped me, and I just keep putting down my phone to do other stuff because the story still hasn’t really pulled me in. I can’t really say I’m surprised because even though I enjoyed The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, it wasn’t one of my favourite books. And I’ll just not talk about the stuff I’ve read from Cassandra Clare, because I don’t want to. Ha ha, I’ll just read a couple of more chapters to see whether I want to continue reading or not.

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH? | The last book I finished was Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas; and I have posted my review of this book too. I loved it to bits, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, Heir of Fire. I have also read four short stories – The Assassin and the Princess, also by Sarah J. Maas; and The Witch of Duva, Little Knife, and The Too-Clever Fox by Leigh Bardugo. I liked all four of them, though I found the Witch of Duva a tiny bit confusing. (Hence me giving it only three stars, while rating the other three with four).

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT? | I think, after I finish (or dnf) either one of the books I am reading right now, I’ll start Cell by Stephen King. I got it at the Boekenfestijn and I am really curious, mainly because I both liked and disliked Carrie, the first book I’ve read from him. I’ll see, maybe I will get Heir of Fire by the time I finish a book and then I’ll read that! I’ve also got two books I received from authors, so I might start one of those!

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper, where I’ll post about one book per week that has been on my wishlist for some time, or just added, that I can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto my shelves.

assassinsbladeTitle: The Assassin’s Blade (Goodreads)
Series: Throne of Glass #0.1 – #0.5
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Release date: 4 March 2014

Celaena Sardothien is Adarlan’s most feared assassin. As part of the Assassin’s Guild, her allegiance is to her master, Arobynn Hamel, yet Celaena listens to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. In these action-packed novellas – together in one edition for the first time – Celaena embarks on five daring missions. They take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, where she fights to liberate slaves and seeks to avenge the tyrannous. But she is acting against Arobynn’s orders and could suffer an unimaginable punishment for such treachery. Will Celaena ever be truly free? Explore the dark underworld of this kick-ass heroine to find out.

I really love this series, and I would love to read these novella’s too. Though I normally don’t really like novella’s, I would probably make an exception for certain series (like the Grisha trilogy, Harry Potter, Divergent and this series of course); I really hope I can get this soon because I want to read more about Celaena and her adventures and yeah I just love Throne of Glass!
