WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme organized by MizB from Should Be Reading. It has you answering the following three questions: What are you currently reading; What did you recently finish and What do you think you’ll read next? To see my previous WWW Wednesday posts, just click this link and it’ll take you to the right page!
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING? | I am reading Carrie by Stephen King. I like what I’ve read so far, and though I already know how it ends, I’m just really curious to see if it’s different from the movie(s).
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH? | The last books I finished were The Wicked We Have Done by Sarah Harian. I’ll post my review of this book on the 18th, which is the official release date of the book.
I also read the Boy in the Smoke by Maureen Johnson, a novella in the Shades of London series, written in Stephen’s POV. Because it’s a novella, I haven’t written a review about it, but I really liked it (So much, I gave it four stars, though I normally rate novella’s three stars).
And I finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. And I LOVED it. You can find my review of this book here.
Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper, where I’ll post about one book per week that has been on my wishlist for some time, or just added, that I can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto my shelves.
Title: Say Her Name (Goodreads) Series: – Author: James Dawson Release date: 5 June 2014
Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Rowe is not the kind of person who believes in ghosts. A Halloween dare at her ridiculously spooky boarding school is no big deal, especially when her best friend Naya and cute local boy Caine agree to join in too. They are ordered to summon the legendary ghost of ‘Bloody Mary’: say her name five times in front of a candlelit mirror, and she shall appear… But, surprise surprise, nothing happens. Or does it?
Next morning, Bobbie finds a message on her bathroom mirror… five days… but what does it mean? And who left it there? Things get increasingly weird and more terrifying for Bobbie and Naya, until it becomes all too clear that Bloody Mary was indeed called from the afterlife that night, and she is definitely not a friendly ghost. Bobbie, Naya and Caine are now in a race against time before their five days are up and Mary comes for them, as she has come for countless others before… A truly spine-chilling yet witty horror from shortlisted ‘Queen of Teen’ author James Dawson.
I have always been a bit creeped out, but also very fascinated, by Bloody Mary. A while ago, I saw a Supernatural episode that was about Bloody Mary and though I really liked that episode, it also made me scared. I found a chapter sample of this book on the publisher’s website and , I loved it so much. And the cover just looks amazing! Why can’t this book come out sooner?!
