WWW & Wishlist Wednesday (01/01)

www_wednesdays4First of all, happy new year to all of you!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme organized by MizB from Should Be Reading. It has you answering the following three questions: What are you currently reading; What did you recently finish and What do you think you’ll read next? To see my previous WWW Wednesday posts, just click this link and it’ll take you to the right page!

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING? | I am currently reading Just One Day by Gayle Forman, and the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. I haven’t really read a lot the past couple of days, because I was busy with work and new years’ eve, but I am going to read more this month!

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH? | I finished Halloween: Magic, Mystery and the Macabre by Paula Guran, and I’ve posted my review here. I really liked it, it was different from what I normally read (I hardly ever read short stories actually), and I am planning on reading more of Paula Guran’s books.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT? | After I finish the Silmarillion, I might start reading Runemarks by Joanne Harris, a (fiction) book that is about Norse Mythology, as far as I understand; and I just want to read it so badly! And I also might reread either Harry Potter (by J.K. Rowling) or the Lord of the Rings (by J.R.R. Tolkien), I’m not really sure about that.

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Pen to Paper, where I’ll post about one book per week that has been on my wishlist for some time, or just added, that I can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto my shelves.

17449197Title: Unhinged (Goodreads)
Series: Splintered #2
Author: A.G. Howard
Release date: 7 January 2014

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she’s always dreamed of.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.

As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.

If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she’ll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

I just can’t wait to read this book. I loved the first book, and I want to read more of Wonderland’s creepyness, more about Alyssa (and Jeb) and oh I just want to read this book!
