Book stats: September 2013

Another month, gone, so it’s time for another book stats post! I told myself I wouldn’t buy more than two books this month (it’s also part of my Day Zero challenge), but I kinda broke it when I went to Amazon. I bought three books, which really isn’t that bad, because they didn’t cost that much, ánd I didn’t have to pay any shipping costs! And then I went to the supermarket, and I saw this book of which I had read the first in the series, for only three euros!

  • The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson | After reading the first book in this series, I fell in love. I wasn’t really a fan of her 13 Little Blue Envelopes book, but I liked The Name of the Star a lot better. It did take me a while to buy the second book though, because I really wanted to buy other books in stead. But this month I finally did! I can’t wait to read it!
  • Scarlet by Marissa Meyer | I loved Cinder so much (even though it was kinda predictable) so naturally I went and bought the second book in this series. I hope this book is as good as Cinder is!
  • Slated by Teri Terry | I have heard a lot of good things about this book, a lot of people that I follow on Goodreads have given it a good rating, so when I saw it on Amazon, I decided to buy it.
  • A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin | Actually this book isn’t mine, but I borrowed it from my sister. I’ve just decided to add borrowed books to this pile as well, because I might get myself a new library card soon and then I’ll probabyl borrow more books.
  • Outside In by Maria V. Snyder | I had read the first book, and I hadn’t loved it much, but I still liked the story so I added the second book to my to-read list. A couple of days ago, I went to the Albert Heijn (a supermarket) and I saw that they had the sequel for only three euros! It is the Dutch version though, but I’m not really that bummed, because three euros! And I’m going to try to read more Dutch books, so that’s two plusses!

I have also received a couple of books through NetGalley.

And I have won a book! I entered several giveaways on Goodreads, and a couple of weeks ago I got an email that I won one of them! I won the book Dark Horizons by Jenny Colgan, a Doctor Who book. It has been shipped, but it hasn’t arrived yet (the email said it would take about 4-6 weeks, so I might get it somewhere halfway through October, so I’ll add it to the next Book Stats post). But I am really excited about reading it!

And the books I read this month, and those that I am currently reading. The books I’m currently reading are italicized.
