Super Bowl Trailers: Solo, Infinity War, Jurassic World, and more…

Published by Nessa Luna on

Last night was the Super Bowl, a sports event in America that I honestly don’t know much about… I just know it’s possibly one of the biggest sports events and I know that every year, we get a bunch of new trailers for upcoming movies. This year was of course no different, so I decided to make a collective post for all the trailers I am personally excited for!

Solo, a Star Wars Story

During an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion. Cast: Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Paul Bettany. IMDB.

I am possibly one of the few people who is actually looking forward to this movie. This trailer looks really cool and I cannot wait to see it in the cinema.

Red Sparrow

Ballerina Dominika Egorova is recruited to ‘Sparrow School’ a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. But her first mission, targeting a CIA agent, threatens to unravel the security of both nations. Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons, Matthias Schoenaerts, Mary-Louise Parker. IMDB.

Ok, let me just voice everyone’s opinion: This looks like a Black Widow movie. If they’d replaced Jennifer with Scarlett Johansson, you probably would have gotten the Black Widow origin movie everyone is asking for. I have no idea what this movie is going to be like for real, though, but I am curious.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Cast: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Toby Jones, BD Wong. IMDB.

Wooooooh more dinosaurs!

Castle Rock

Based on the stories of Stephen King, the series will intertwine characters and themes from the fictional town of Castle Rock. Cast: Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, André Holland, Jane Levy, Terry O’Quinn. IMDB.

Ok, honestly I don’t know much about this other than that it’s based on stories by Stephen King and that’s basically what got me interested.

Skyscraper

FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building…above the fire line. Cast: Dawyne Johnson, Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Kevin Rankin, Roland Møller. IMDB.

Again, don’t know much about it, other than the fact that Dwayne Johnson is in it. So yeah.

Avengers: Infinity War

The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo. IMDB.

I only have incoherent things to say about this trailer, so let’s get on with it: AHHHHASUDWHERIOHWIEORHIHWEIORHAIDF. That will be all.

Which Super Bowl trailer was your favourite?
