October’s here to stay! Or rather, October’s about to leave. Oh well, October was a nice, calm month for me, and the start of me trying to stop buying so many books every month. I’ve managed pretty well, buying only four physical books and one e-book. Let’s wrap things up, shall we?
The first book I got from Bookdepository for less than 3 euros because of their new website. They had a lot of books on discount to celebrate and I saw this one, liked the cover and decided to buy it. The other three were books I highly anticipated and pre-ordered as well.
I had wanted to reread Illuminae before getting into Gemina but totally forgot about it until a couple of days before the release. So I went and looked for the audiobook. I got on Audible’s website and saw I could get it for free with a free trial, so of course, I did that. The SoC audiobook I got from a friend because she told me it was amazing to listen to and I needed to listen to it too. Unrivaled and I See You I got for free – the first because I filled in a survey, the other I got from the publisher for review.
Other stuff bought, received
Slytherin hat, scarf and tie
Nightmare Before Christmas cardigan
My friends and I decided to go to the midnight premiere of Fantastic Beasts in Hogwarts costumes, but then I realised I didn’t even have a Slytherin tie! Luckily, Marktplaats was there and I got the tie, scarf and hat together for 26 euros – much cheaper than if I had bought the official merch (which I might still do, soon, because their colours are more accurate of course).
The Funko pops were a sort of impulse buys because Uhura was on sale at a website, and Popshop only had one Checkov funko in stock, so I panicked and bought it before it could slip through my fingers again. The sewing pattern is for my Inej Ghafa cosplay, which I am hoping to start soon. I think.
A better reading month this time, with only one reread. I read five books, four comics, listened to one audiobook and am currently still busy in two books. At the moment I am 11 books ahead of schedule and I only need to read seven more books until I’ve reached my reading goal for this year.
Lots of movies this month, some very exciting new releases, and some oldies. We also finished both season 2 and 3 of American Horror Story and are currently busy with the fourth (and possibly my least favourite?) season.
It’s time for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them, ahhhhh! I am also going to put myself on a sort of book buying ban, I guess… I’m allowed to buy maybe two or three books, and perhaps a comic/graphic novel if I see something I want. Other than that, I am not allowed to spend that much money anymore because I need to save money for London next year! It’s all coming really close now!
And of course, November is NaNoWriMo month! I am participating again, and I am not going to say I am definitely going for 50.000 words. I am just going to try my best and see how far I come.
