We’ve come to the end of another month. August was busy but exciting, and I had lots of fun this month. I bought some great books, went to a couple of awesome events and made lots of pictures (which you can see in my Behind the Scenes post that was published yesterday). Let’s take a look at the stuff I spent my money on this month, shall we?
The first two of these books were books I’d been wanting to buy for ages, but never really did. Black Widow wasn’t released in Paperback until May this year I believe, and it was really cheap on Bol.com; RotS was rather cheap at my local bookstore as well, and I had heard great things about it. Cruel Beauty was rather cheap on Bol.com as well so I added it to my order, and The Third Twin sounded really intriguing so I added it as well. Queen of the Tearling was 10 euros at a stand at Castlefest, so I bought it partly because they didn’t have the funko’s I wanted to buy. And I found CoS at a supermarket that had a bookshelf in their store (you could take books and add books for free from there). The Cursed Child was bought by Tanja (with my money obvs) in London, and now I feel really cool to have a book that came from a London bookstore!
Scarlet Witch, I got from BookDepository, because it was suddenly a lot cheaper than it used to be, and I really wanted it because I love Wanda. There were so many great comics that I saw at Amsterdam Comic-Con, but most of them were volume 2, 3, 4 and so forth, but hardly ever volume 1. The X-Factor comic was nice because I was looking for volume 2 for that series, and Iron Fist is volume 2, but it was really cheap and I decided to just bring it with me and buy volume 1 from Bookdepository later. The Star Wars comic is apparently a limited edition (according to Goodreads) and I bought it for 10 euros.
Other stuff bought, received
Star Wars shirt
Harry Potter socks
Why are you buying winter stuff while there was a heatwave in your country? Cosplay, dear reader. Always cosplay. I needed some fingerless black gloves and a grey scarf for my Jessica Jones cosplay, because I’d sort of last-minute decided I wanted to cosplay her at ACC. The flask was bought for her as well, and I filled it with Jack Daniels (though I hardly drank from it). The socks were from a four-pack, that I shared with Tanja (she got Ravenclaw, obviously, and we did a rock-paper-scissors for the Hufflepuff socks. As you can see, she won). And the bag is great; it’s not too big, but also not so small you can’t put anything in it. I can fit a book, my wallet and both my phone and mp3 player in it!
I think September is going to be pretty quiet. I have a wedding on the 2nd, and other than that there’s nothing really I need to do. I think I’ll make a start on my Rey cosplay, and just slowly make progress on that. And I’ll be visiting the Boekenfestijn of course when it’s in Utrecht. There are some great movies coming out this month, so I’m looking forward to those, but other than that I can’t really remember if I’ve planned anything. Oh well, more time to read, I guess!
