Wrap-up: June 2017

Ok, even though I haven’t really posted in the past couple of weeks, I did want to make a wrap-up post, partly so I can maybe just make a fresh start in July. I’ve been thinking about revamping my blog in the future, adding some new features and hopefully post a lot more in the upcoming months, but for now, I’m just going to do lots of things behind the scenes (literally). Anyway, for now, we’re going to wrap up June! Books, funkos and other things I bought Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (20th Anniversary Slytherin Edition) by J.K. […]

Behind the Scenes #34

This Behind the Scenes post will be full of a month’s worth of pictures, though it’s still not a lot. I didn’t do a lot of things this month, because of things. But yeah, I still have 26 pictures to show you. And from this month I will try to keep it up biweekly! L: The weather was warming up, so the Sphynx cats came outside again! They are so cute, and this one literally walks with me until I get back on my bike or in the car. R: A new restaurant opened next to our cinema, so naturally we had to […]

Ten Best Books I’ve Read So Far in 2017

Yes, hello, I’m still alive! I decided I wanted to participate in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday because I wanted to show off the best books I’ve read so far this year. Most of them are graphic novels, to no one’s surprise, but I’ve got a couple of books in there as well! I hope the upcoming six months are just as great book-wise! Top Ten Tuesdayis a weekly meme organised by The Broke and the Bookish. I am in a reading/blogging/everything slump

Yeah well, you probably noticed I haven’t blogged in a while. I haven’t posted a Behind the Scenes post around the 15th and I haven’t posted any reviews in a while. Partly because I am in a kind of reading/review writing slump, and partly because my head is just in a weird place. I’ve been thinking, how much use is it to keep blogging if hardly anyone reads it? So yeah, no blogs, reviews or anything from me lately. Then again, I don’t want to give up this blog/URL so if I’m not going to blog anymore, what should I do with […]

Trailer: Flatliners

Today, the first trailer for the upcoming remake (or sequel? I’m not sure now) of Flatliners was released. I have not seen the original movie, nor do I know much about the storyline, but the cast is what made me interested in this movie. After seeing the trailer, I am definitely intrigued, and I think I might go and see this when it comes out. Medical students experiment on “near death” experiences that involve past tragedies until the dark consequences begin to jeopardize their lives. Cast: Nina Dobrev, Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons, James Norton, Kiefer Sutherland. Genre: Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi. IMDB. Flatliners comes out […]

Teaser Trailer: Black Panther

Yesterday night, Marvel released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming movie Black Panther. The movie, of course, features the character that was introduced in Civil War and introduces a bunch more characters from Wakanda. I am very excited for this movie and enjoyed this teaser a lot! T’Challa, the new ruler of the advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must defend his land from being torn apart by enemies from outside and inside the country. Cast: Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis. IMDB. Black Panther will be released in February next year!

Trailer: Coco

Yesterday, Disney Pixar released the full trailer for their upcoming movie Coco. I am very excited for this movie, though I am also a little bit afraid I might compare it to The Book of Life too much. As they are both movies about the Day of the Dead, based in Mexico and apparently involving a boy and a guitar, at first I thought this was Disney’s attempt at recreating one of my favourite movies. Still, after seeing this trailer, I am very excited and will definitely see this movie in theaters! Coco follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who […]

Review: HEX

I believe I first heard about this book from the Dutch book scene, and it intrigued me because it’s one of the few Dutch books I know that got translated into English. People called this book creepy, said they couldn’t sleep anymore after finishing and had to sleep with the lights on. I’d been wanting to read a good horror book, even though I am a big pussy, but had been severely disappointed so far. I borrowed my sister’s copy and dove straight into this book – hoping that I would finally have found the one book that would actually creep me […]
