The first two weeks of March are over already, and we’re onto the most exciting part of March, in my opinion. DCC and HobbitCon time, yay! Let’s take a look at the pictures I took in week 9 and 10 of March 2016!
I finally bought my Dutch Comic Con ticket at the end of February. I had to wait until I got a bit more money, but then when I had it I bought it asap. I can’t wait to go there for two days and wear my Maximoff costumes, yay!
These are the books I am planning to read this month. Yes, note how every month I keep adding Clockwork Angel to the list, but I still haven’t picked it up. I am still not 100% convinced I will even slightly enjoy this series, because I really didn’t like any of her other books, but I’ve heard that this series is better than TMI. And I really do love the covers (which is why I bought the first two books in hardcover for very very cheap). I have already read The Red Pyramid and The Raven Boys, and am currently reading Trial by Fire!
Our parents weren’t at home one night, so my sister and I ended up eating pizza and sushi (not together though; she had sushi, I had pizza). I honestly love pizza and I love New York Pizza so so much. <3
It’s all fun and games until one of them starts biting the other. Seriously these two cannot sit together for more than five minutes before they start fighting again. Not actual fighting with claws and actual biting of course, but more playful.
We bought some glowsticks for HobbitCon already, though they didn’t have any at the store we usually buy them at. These were a euro each, for fifteen glowsticks, which I thought was a bit expensive. I will go back to the Action very soon to buy some more of the cheaper versions!
I was really in the mood to rewatch Lord of the Rings, so that is exactly what I did last week. The extended editions of course, which caused me to still be watching Return of the King at 2am on a Monday night, when I had to work the next day. Oops. (Okay I have flexible working hours, I can start at 8am, 1pm or 3pm and it won’t matter, but still).
I am doing a budgeted version of Nessa from the Silmarillion for HobbitCon, and I thought it might be nice to put one of these on my wig. I’ve already gotten a deer necklace because Nessa is known for outrunning deer. I really hope my dress arrives in time, so I might be able to add some sleeves or something to it before HobbitCon!
I have always wanted to participate in a pre-order goodie thing, but unfortunately, most of them are USA/UK only so I always miss out on them. In December, I found out Jessica Khoury was doing one for her book The Forbidden Wish, a sort of retelling of Aladdin. And it was worldwide! I immediately pre-ordered the book, and I got this lovely map, a bookmark and a signed bookplate in the mail not long after receiving the book. Yay!
I am cosplaying Quicksilver (a female version of it at least) at Dutch Comic Con, and I was going to wear my Adidas hoodie which looks a bit like one Pietro’s wearing in Age of Ultron. Then, I realised I have these varsity type jackets – one in red, one in blue – that had a big ‘M’ on it, which is perfect for Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. So I am going to wear this one with my cosplay instead of the Adidas one.
My friend and I want to ‘train’ for HobbitCon, because we realised that every time, after dancing so so much each night, we’d be hurting all over. So we decided to do a Just Dance session every Tuesday. Last time, we each got five stars for the Macarena, which is amazing! Yay! (Yes, she’s C3p0, I’m Kylo Ren).
I am afraid of sharks. Specifically their teeth. So when my parents and sister went to a zoo a long time ago, they thought it would be nice to buy me a sharks’ tooth. It’s been in this box ever since, and I haven’t even touched it to put it back in the middle. Yes, I know it’s just a tooth it won’t hurt me, but I don’t know. I just don’t like teeth.
We had to get rid of our old scratching pole because one of the cats had peed on it. But then we got a new one that reaches all the way to the ceiling. The cats already love it, and they have been fighting for that top basket ever since they found out it was there. This day, Disney won.
I am also still planning on doing a comic version of Scarlet Witch, and so is my friend, so we’re making her headpiece. We got a piece of worbla that just about fits both our masks and this one is my version. I thought it might be too big for my head, but I just have to fold it in several places for it to fit perfectly around my head. I can’t wait to show you the finished product!
And this shirt is my new favourite. It’s really perfect for cosplay as well, if I’m doing a Marvel character. It’s a little bit too short for me to be honest, but that might be because the jeans I am wearing right now are not really my fit either. Oh well, I’ll see. I’m really happy with this shirt though!
And that’s the end of this post. The next one might come a little later or sooner because I will be at HobbitCon on the last day of March. Stay tuned!
