January Movies I Want to See

The new year has officially started, and naturally there are a lot of movies coming out this year. Just like the previous couple of months, I decided to make a post about the January movies I am really excited for. Without further ado, let’s see them!

Joy – 7 January

Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert de Niro, Édgar Ramírez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini, Dascha Polanco, Elisabeth Röhm. (source: IMDb)Synopsis: Joy is the story of the title character, who rose to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty.

I first saw a trailer for this at the cinema, and I really liked it. I personally like Jennifer as an actress, and I also really like Bradley Cooper (I mean he’s Rocket Raccoon, COME ON). So yeah naturally I had to add this to my list.

The Danish Girl – 14 January

Cast: Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Adrian Schiller, Amber Heard, Ben Wishaw. (source: IMDb)Synopsis: A fictitious love story inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.

This movie has gotten a lot of hate because it has a ‘cis’ guy playing a transgender character, but honestly I am not bothered by that. I added this movie because Fantastic Beasts is coming out this November, and I haven’t seen any movies with Eddie Redmayne in it at all. I kind of want to know what he’s like before watching FB. So yeah.

The 5th Wave – 28 January

Cast: Chloë Grace Moretz, Maika Monroe, Liev Schreiber, Nick Robinson, Maria Bello, Maggie Siff, Ron Livingston, Alex Roe, Talitha Bateman. (source: IMDb)Synopsis: Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother.

Oh godssssss this is the movie I am looking foward to the most this month! I read the book two years ago I think and I loved it! And so far the trailers I’ve seen for the movie all looked so cool and thrilling and I just can’t wait to finally go and see this one, yesssssss!
