TMI Thursday – Christmas Book Tag

Christmas is almost upon us, and I thought it might be nice to do a little Christmas book tag. I found this on That Artsy Reader Girl’s blog! Next week I’ll probably do something different than a (book) tag, but I haven’t decided yet what.

1. “All I Want for Christmas Is You”

Name your favorite bookish couple

The first couple that comes to my mind is Tris and Four, from the Divergent series. I honestly love seeing them together, and though I don’t like it when they have arguments and fights, I really just love them so so much.

2. “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”

Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).

In Fangirl, Cath and Wren have just moved into their new dorm for college. That is also where the majority of the story takes place. They do get home for a bit during Christmas (I believe, or Thanksgiving?) but the story does take place at college for the most part.

3. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).

Well, I guess you could count the Percy Jackson series as middle grade books, which is a series that I loved very much! As for novella’s, my favourites are still those written by Leigh Bardugo; The Too-Clever Fox, The Witch of Duva, Little Knife, The Demon in the Wood and The Tailor were all stories that I really enjoyed reading. I secretly hope that these will be released in a novella book which happened to a lot of authors’ novella’s! *fingers crossed*

4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town“

What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?

Well, I put a couple of books on my wishlist, and I really hope to get at least one or two of them. I got the third Ms. Marvel comic on there, which is a series that I really enjoyed and I can’t wait to read on. I also have the Percy Jackson boxset on my wishlist, because while I have read all five books, I don’t own the physical books yet.

5. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”

Which book turned your nose red? (made you cry)

Allegiant by Veronica Roth actually broke my heart. Apart from that book, I don’t often cry (that much) while reading books. (Okay Harry Potter tho).

6. “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

What’s your favorite book to read during the holidays? (re-read? or a specific genre?)

I honestly don’t have a certain book or genre that I like to read during Christmas, I just read whatever I am in the mood for. I did read a Christmas-themed book last year, but I don’t really know if I’m going to do that again this year. I have my eye on ‘Let It Snow‘ by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle because recently I’ve been seeing it more often on people’s blogs!

7. “We Three Kings”

What’s your favorite trilogy?

The Grisha trilogy, Divergent, The Hunger Games, Slated; I can’t really choose, there are so many trilogies and there are so many that I really loved! Out of these I think I did enjoy Divergent the most. Or maybe the Hunger Games… Or… AAAAAH I CAN’T CHOOSE!!!

8. “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”

Which character would you not mind being snowed in with?

I’d love to get snowed in with Pietro Maximoff – but only if he looks like Aaron Taylor-Johnson. 😉

9. “Last Christmas”

Which book seriously let you down?

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, I really enjoyed the first and second book, but to me the last book just kind of fell flat. I don’t really remember much of what happened in this book, but there was a serious lack of action in my opinion, and Adam was just an asshole the entire time. I really changed my opinion on both him and Warner during this book, and yeah I don’t know – it wasn’t the amazing ending that I had hoped for.

10. “White Christmas”

Which upcoming release are you dreaming of?

There are two books that I am really looking forward to next year; Truthwitch by Susan Dennard, because I’ve been hearing such. good. things. about this book. I can’t wait to get my hands on it, and read it and hopefully love it as much as the rest of the world. I am also looking forward to Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. I read the first book in her Darkest Minds series, and I am ashamed to say I still haven’t picked up the rest of the series, but I’ve been hearing great things about this book and I just want to read it because timetravel, mostly.

So there you have it! If you want to do this Christmas book tag, consider yourself tagged by me. Now I am going to listen to some music to get all these Christmas songs out of my head again!
