Top Ten Tuesday

Ten Book-to-movie adaptations I am VERY excited for!

I love it when a book I liked gets made into a movie. A couple of years ago I would have been sceptic, I would have wanted the movie to be exactly like the book and otherwise I would have hated it. Now, I’ve decided to not do that anymore, and just enjoy a movie – because I know a movie will never be exactly the same as the book. Ever. Anyway, here are ten book-to-movie adaptations I am looking forward to so very very much! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme organised by the ladies of The Broke and the Bookish!

Mockingjay part two (directed by Francis Lawrence) – Oh my gods, I cannot wait for this movie, even though I also can. I don’t want the series to end, and I don’t want the things to happen that happen in this part of the book. But AHHHHHH! I am seeing it next week, on Wednesday, and I am definitely expecting to shed some tears.

Allegiant/Ascendant (directed by Robert Schwentke) – There was some uproar about the name change (they changed it from Allegiant pt 1 and Allegiant pt 2 to just Allegiant and Ascendant, which imo is pretty nice, I don’t like the ‘pt 1’  things behind titles), and I bet a lot of people will refuse to watch these movies because they don’t like what happened in the last book. I am one of those people that is looking forward to the movies, though not so much to the ‘thing’.

The Death Cure (directed by Wes Ball) – I liked the first two movies, and I am really looking foward to this third and final movie (because yay for not splitting it into two movies!)

Captain America: Civil War (directed by the Russo brothers) – To be honest, I didn’t think the Winter Soldier was the best Marvel movie ever made, but I did enjoy it very much. This movie is going to be much bigger than TWS, with more heroes in it (WANDA MAXIMOFF! WANDA MAXIMOFF!) and a bigger story, imo. I’ve read the comic a while back, and I am curious what they’re going to use of it in the movie!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (directed by Tim Burton) – Miss Peregrine’s is amazing! And the fact that Tim Burton is directing this movie will probably make it even better and better! Tim Burton is one of my favourite directors, and I just cannot wait to see this movie next year!

The Jungle Book (directed by Jon Favreau) – Honestly I’ve never read the book, but I did watch the Disney movie a lot when I was younger. Recently I rewatched it in English, and gods I am so excited for this new movie!

The 5th Wave (directed by J Blakeson) – OH MY GODS, I loved this book so so much and I loved the trailer for the movie as well. I recently watched the two Kick-Ass movies, so I think that Chloe can pull off Cassie very well. I’m curious about the other actors, because I don’t know most of them, but I think the’ll be amazing!

Cell (directed by Tod Williams) – I didn’t hear this Stephen King book was going to be a movie until I looked up book-to-movie adaptions for this TTT. But it’s got Isabelle Fuhrman (Clove from The Hunger Games) and Samuel L. Jackson (do I need to tell you who he is?) which are two amazing actors!

Artemis Fowl (directed by Kenneth Branagh) – Artemis Fowl could have been just as popular as Harry Potter, but unfortunately the books were released at around the same time, and HP just took all the glory. I personally enjoyed the first two books a lot when I was younger, and I’ve recently started rereading them. so I can’t wait for this movie! And Gilderoy Lockhart is directing it, come on!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (directed by David Yates) – NEW HARRY POTTER MOVIE. Okay maybe we don’t have the same characters we know and love, but it’s still in Harry Potter’s world, it’s still penned by J.K. Rowling and it’s got an amazing cast so far. I can’t wait to see this movie, and I can’t wait to see what other stories are going to be adapted (because there was talk of more movies than just this one).

Which movie adaptations are high on your list?
