YALfest Netherlands

After watching people go to events such as BEA (Book Expo America, I believe it’s called in full), my country is FINALLY getting an event similar (or hopefully similar) to this. It’s called YALfest (Young Adult Literature Festival) and I am so so excited for this! Yalfest will be held on the 24th of April 2016 (a Sunday), in Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht

Not only will it be an event where booklovers can meet up, but you can also meet some worldfamous authors as well! So far, they’ve announced a couple of amazing authors that really made me want to sob a little bit, honestly. Ransom Riggs (!!!!!), Tahereh Mafi (!!!!), Stephanie Perkins (!!!), Lucy Ivison and Tom Ellen, Arwen Elys Dayton and Becky Albertalli. The first three are authors I’ve read myself, and I am very excited to be meeting them. The other three (or four, though Tom and Lucy have written a book together so they count as one) are authors I haven’t read yet, but I am planning on reading at least one of their books before YALfest.

The day will be filled with awesome things; there’ll be workshops, you can get your picture taken with the actors, there’ll be a lunch and many more things to do. I personally cannot wait for it to happen, but it will be a while – because it isn’t until next year!

Tickets are on sale – right here – for 42,50 euros, but you’ll have to be quick because right now, only tickets for Workshop C (Vlogging) are still available. (Of course, by the time I post this, the ticket may be sold out already. But don’t worry, there might also be people who will sell their tickets in the comings months, because they find out they can’t make it after all. So you should just keep an eye on the YALfest facebook page!)

Are you going?
