Today is Wednesday, the second Wednesday of 2015. So of course, like any other Wednesday, it is time for WWW and Waiting On Wednesday! (How often can you say Wednesday in one, or two, sentences?!) WWW Wednesday is a weekly bloghop created by MizB fromShould be Reading. In this bloghop, you answer three questions: What are you currently reading; What did you recently finish; What do you think you’ll read next. Here are my answers for this week!
What are you currently reading? Right now I am reading Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier, and though I enjoy the whole time travel aspect of the story, I am halfway through it and nothing has really happened yet. Bit of a shame, because I thought I would REALLY like these books (but that was mainly because of the covers, and possibly the time traveling).
What did you recently finish? Since last Wednesday I finished We Were Liars by E. Lockhart which I didn’t enjoy that much. I’ve posted my review on the blog. I also started and finished The Heart of the Dragon by Keith R.A. DeCandido, a Supernatural book which I liked but also not very much. And I read The Girl and the Machine by Beth Revis. She’d send out an email saying that the first 100 replies would get the novella for free; so of course I immediately filled in the form. And I got it! (Eventually I think she send it to the first 500 replies). I liked it very much, especially the twist at the end!
What do you think you’ll read next? Well, I got an email saying that I could pick up Fractured by Teri Terry from my local bookstore, but I haven’t done that yet (still hoping that I’ll get another email but for Ensnared this week, so I can pick them both up). But I guess I’ll be reading that one as soon as I get it.
Waiting On Wednesday is a bloghop created by Jill from Breaking the Spine. It has you talking about (not yet released) books that you can’t wait to get your hands on.
Title: A Wicked Thing (Goodreads)
Author: Rhiannon Thomas
Release date: 24 February 2015
Rhiannon Thomas’s dazzling debut novel is a spellbinding reimagining of Sleeping Beauty and what happens after happily ever after.
One hundred years after falling asleep, Princess Aurora wakes up to the kiss of a handsome prince and a broken kingdom that has been dreaming of her return. All the books say that she should be living happily ever after. But as Aurora understands all too well, the truth is nothing like the fairy tale.
Her family is long dead. Her “true love” is a kind stranger. And her whole life has been planned out by political foes while she slept.
As Aurora struggles to make sense of her new world, she begins to fear that the curse has left its mark on her, a fiery and dangerous thing that might be as wicked as the witch who once ensnared her. With her wedding day drawing near, Aurora must make the ultimate decision on how to save her kingdom: marry the prince or run.
Rhiannon Thomas weaves together vivid scenes of action, romance, and gorgeous gowns to reveal a richly imagined world … and Sleeping Beauty as she’s never been seen before.
Why I am waiting on this book: Sleeping Beauty. She is honestly one of my favourite (Disney) princesses, and I am trying to read as many retellings of this story as I can; this one just sounds really cool and the cover looks amazing too and ugh I want it now!
So, which books are on your WWW list or which book are you waiting on today? Let me know in a comment!
