WWW & Waiting On Wednesday (24/12)

Wednesday 24 December, one day before Christmas and Doctor Who’s Christmas special. One week until the end of the year. It has been four days since my favourite band has played their last ever show (and I am still in denial). And of course, it is time for another WWW and Waiting On Wednesday post!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly bloghop created by MizB from Should be Reading. In this bloghop, you answer three questions: What are you currently reading; What did you recently finish; What do you think you’ll read next. Here are my answers for this week!

ironking10What are you currently reading? At the moment, I am reading The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. I haven’t really read much since last week, but I am determined to finish it today or perhaps tomorrow (even though I’ll probably be at my gran for the majority of the day to celebrate Christmas). I want to start another book too, but I don’t know which one.

What did you recently finish? I finished Prodigy by Marie Lu, which I enjoyed a lot. I still need to write my review about it, but I’ve been a bit busy with Christmas-y stuff that I haven’t really had time to do it. I’ll probably write it tonight and post it tomorrow or the day after. I have to say it wasn’t my favourite of the series (even though I’ve rated it higher than Legend, but that’s because I read it in Dutch and Prodigy in English).

What do you think you’ll read next? Well, I definitely want to read Champion by Marie Lu, the last book in the Legend series. I just really want to know how the story ends (though I also don’t want to know because feelings). And perhaps I’ll reread The Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Waiting On Wednesday is a bloghop created by Jill from Breaking the Spine. It has you talking about (not yet released) books that you can’t wait to get your hands on.

book10 Title: I Was Here (Goodreads)
Series:
Author: Gayle Forman
Release date: 27 January 2015

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.

When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.

I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss.

Why am I waiting on this book? I love Gayle Forman’s books, so she’s on my insta-buy list (not that I really have one, but you know if I did have one, she’d be on it). When I read the summary for this book, I just decided I NEED to have it, and I will probably buy it as soon as it’s out (even if it’s only available as hardcover).
