Nine Books About Sand

Today’s Top Ten is all about Beachy reads, and seeing as I don’t like the beach nor reading at the beach, I decided to just look up a couple of books that I remember involved sand. Whether it be because part of the story took place on a beach or a desert, but each of these books had sand mentioned at least once, as far as I can remember. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, organised by The Broke and the Bookish.

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
Rogue One by Alexander Freed
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

The Force Awakens by Alan Dean Foster
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan

What’s your favourite beachy read?

  • That is a pretty hilarious take on this week’s theme! Although when I was putting my list together, at one point I realized I was thinking of a book that was more desert-y than summer-y, so that sand/summer connection is real. It’s interesting to look at these covers together too–fire and lasers and reds and oranges.

  • I really like your twist on this topic and there are some really interesting books on your list!

“Catching Fire” and “The Scorch Trials” are two of my favorite books and the Rogue One novelization is on my list as well!

I have listened to the audiobook of “The Force Awakens” a while ago and was a bit disappointed because the author didn’t really add anything to the movie plot but I’m still planning to read more Star Wars books in the future – I’m especially curious about Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy!
